History
Founded during the Tenbun period (1532–1555 CE), the shrine was established by Egawa Zengoemon Masakado, the pioneer of the area, who enshrined a branch spirit (bunrei) from Fushimi Inari Taisha (Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine). It served as the guardian deity (chinju) of the village, which was named Zengoemon-mura after the pioneer. Due to the construction of the Arakawa River relief channel during the Taisho period, the shrine has since been relocated to its current site.
