In 1609 CE (Keicho 14), Imagawa Uchitomo invited the monk Junyan Genpaku to serve as the founding abbot, formally establishing it as a temple. The Jizo Bosatsu statue is designated as a cultural property, recognized as the oldest Jizo Bosatsu statue in Gifu Prefecture.
