History
In ancient times, the three deities Tagirihime-no-Mikoto, Tagihime-no-Mikoto, and Ichijishimabime-no-Mikoto descended from heaven. Later, Emperor Sujin and Empress Jingū were enshrined, and the shrine became Kamagawa Hachiman Jingu. In the first year of the Genryaku era (1184 CE), Iwamatsu Yosane prayed for the discovery of sacred treasures and, in recognition of his achievements, donated one district to the shrine. During the Tenshō era, the shrine was destroyed by fire due to war. It has since undergone relocation and reconstruction of its buildings to reach its current state.
