It received the reverence of successive domain lords and was maintained with domain funds. In the Meiji era, four shrines—Reijunzan, Shichiro, Otomiya, and Hachiman—were consolidated. In 1880 (Meiji 13), the current shrine buildings were erected at the present site, and the shrine was designated as a Prefectural Shrine.
