History
In the first year of the Jōgan era (859 CE), while being enshrined from Usa Jingū to Ishizumi Hachimangu, the deity stopped at the foot of Kameyama Mountain, received a divine oracle, and a provisional hall was built to enshrine it. Later, by imperial decree of Emperor Seiwa, a palace was constructed. Today, it is revered as the tutelary deity of 60 districts in Shimonoseki.
