The founding date is unknown, but the temple is recorded in the Edo-period text 'Shinpen Musashi Fudo-ki Ko'. In 1854 CE (Kaye 7), water from a waterfall became popular, and the main hall was rebuilt during the Ansei era. A Niomon (Lion-Dog Gate) was constructed in 1882 CE (Meiji 15).
