History
Originally the head temple of a Yakushi-do (Medicine Buddha hall), its main enshrined image, Yakushi Nyorai (Medicine Buddha), was called 'Mine no Yakushi' (Medicine Buddha of the Peak). It was relocated from Inome Village during the Tensho era and granted five koku of rice from the Goshuin Yakushi-do domain during the Kan-ei era. The current main hall and abbot's residence were built in 1922 CE (Taisho 11).
