Yokohama Cathedral, originally established in 1862 by the Paris Foreign Missions Society in the Yokohama Settlement, was relocated to its current site in 1906. It collapsed during the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake but was rebuilt in 1933 based on a design by Jan Joseph Swaegeman.
