History
The shrine's origins trace back to the enshrinement of Futsunushi-no-Mikoto at the site of the former residence of the Kazahaya clan. It was revered as the chief guardian deity for 119 villages within the Kazahaya province. During the Sengoku period, the shrine grounds were granted by the Takagi clan, and it received protection and land donations (shuinchi) from Tokugawa Ieyasu. In 1906 (Meiji 39), it was designated as a village shrine (mura-sha) of Akira Village.
