A single-affiliation temple of the Shingon sect located in Kurashuki City, Okayama Prefecture. It is designated as the first stop on the Setouchi Sanju San Kannon Pilgrimage and the thirtieth stop on the Bichu Saigoku Sanju San Kannon Pilgrimage.

Legend states that during the Tenpyo period, the monks Gyoki and Bodai Sena enshrined a statue of Kannon at this site, and Zoko founded the temple following a divine dream. Clear water springing from the mountain where Zoko established the temple was said to ensure healthy growth if used to bathe babies. The temple acquired the name 'Fusen Kannon-ji' (Unwashed Kannon Temple) based on the tradition that praying for safe childbirth would prevent ritual impurity. In 1954 (Showa 29), the temple became independent from the Omuro-ha branch of the Shingon sect, becoming a single-affiliation Shingon temple.
