History
In 1293, Ishikawa Yoshitaka donated land, and Nichiko established the Shosu Danjo in Kitayama. Five years later, in 1298, the main hall, the Goeido (hall housing the Buddha statue), and the Suijaku-do were completed. Nichiko spent the last 36 years of his life here. After Nichiko, Nichidai succeeded him but was expelled due to doctrinal conflicts and subsequently established Nishiyama Honmonji.
