History
It is said to have been founded during the Enryaku era (782–806 CE). Since the time of Maeda Toshitsune, lord of the Kaga Domain, prayers were always offered whenever there was a birth in the Maeda family, and it has long been revered as a deity for safe childbirth. In 1907 (Meiji 40), the nearby Suwa Shrine (Oobeachi Shrine) was merged into this shrine.
