History

The date of founding is unknown, but it was renamed 'Komabayashi Shrine' in 1924 CE (Taisho 13). The worship hall (haiden) was newly built in 1893 CE (Meiji 26). After the shrine buildings burned down in 1988 CE (Showa 63), they were rebuilt in 1989 CE (Heisei 1). The shrine was also damaged in the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake but was restored the same year. In 2013, the local parishioners restored the large torii gate.

What visitors say

This small, cozy shrine is located near the port, and on clear days, you can sometimes see the sea from the torii gate. The grounds feature impressive shrine buildings, ema (wooden plaques) depicting Tetsujin 28-go, and omamori (charms) such as bracelets with eyeglass frames. In addition to Goshuin (a shrine's calligraphic seal stamp), they offer 'Ikkoku Banbai' omikuji (fortune slips). A free parking lot for four cars is available on the south side.
