History
Founded in 1811 CE (Bunka 8) by order of Takemori Kyogoku, the 7th lord of the Mineyama Domain. The shrine enshrines a branch spirit of Konpira Gongen from Sanuki. Until the separation of Shinto and Buddhism, the Zochōin temple served as the head temple (bettō) overseeing the shrine. The shrine buildings were completely destroyed by the Northern Tango Earthquake but were rebuilt in 1933 CE (Shōwa 8).
