History
In 1819, the head of the local shrine in the upper section of Shitahanegi-juku on the Nakasendo highway invited the deity Konpira Daikengen to be enshrined on his property as a household shrine, marking the beginning of this site. In 1880, it was officially recognized as Konpira-jinja (Konpira Shrine). It was subsequently relocated to Kanda Izumi-cho and Fukagawa Furuisshiba-cho. After being destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Tokyo air raids, it was re-established in the 1950s (Showa 30s) at its current location, which was donated by the Matsudaira clan.

What visitors say
Located near Tokyo Dome and Suidobashi Station in a quiet area with significant elevation changes, the shrine offers a calm atmosphere like an oasis in the city. Visitors with mobility issues should be cautious due to the steep uphill slope. Goshuin (shrine seal stamps) are available as pre-written copies at the shrine office.
