History
It is said to have been enshrined by Kuteraya Hyogo no Oki no Saiboshi, a retainer of Taira no Masakado. The former shrine buildings were constructed in 1737 CE (Bunbun 2), and the current shrine buildings were rebuilt in 1861 CE (Man'en 2). In 1914 CE (Taisho 3), the Katori Shrine and Yashaka Shrine, among others from the Kamitachi-dai Rai Shrine, were merged here.
