The kami were invited to settle in Baba Village, Soga Sho, Kii Province on September 25, 1124 CE (Tenji 1). In 1873 CE (Meiji 6), it was designated as a village shrine. In 1907 CE (Meiji 40), it was designated as a shrine eligible to receive offerings of food and cloth from the Imperial Household Agency. In April 1909 CE (Meiji 42), the deities of seven districts within Manjiro Village were enshrined there.
