History
Founded before 1577 CE (Tensho 5), it enshrined the guardian deity of Tamura Dansaemon Mamoru, who fought against the Oda and the late Hojo clan of Odawara. In 1677 CE (Enpo 5), the deity was transferred from the site of the former castle to the current location. The shrine was revived in the early Edo period to match the growth of Mikumi town. It is said to enshrine a portion of the spirit of Buzen Usa Jingu (Buzen Usa Grand Shrine).
