History
慶長6年（1601年）に代官の小泉吉次が廃寺を妙泉寺と名付け再興した。のちに蓮住阿闍梨日純が秀忠より寺地を与えられ、妙泉寺をこの地に移して妙遠寺と改称し建立した。昭和27年（1952年）に区画整理のため現在地に移転した。
