History
Rebuilt during the Jōkyō era by the nun Yōunni. The mountain name, Nyūkkyūzan, is located at the westernmost end of the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group. It was considered the Jingūji (shrine temple) of Ishizu Taisha (Ishizu Grand Shrine) and was called 'Oyama no Ter' (Temple of the Hill). In 1980 (Shōwa 55), it was relocated to its current site due to land development.
