History
Lord Nitta Yoshioki was a warrior who led the Nitta clan in fierce battles across various regions, demonstrating great loyalty after his father's death. After meeting a heroic end at the 'Yaguchi no Wataridori' crossing of the Tama River in 1358 CE (Shohei 13), reports emerged of his vengeful spirit and mysterious lights appearing. To pacify his spirit, a shrine building was erected before his tomb. He subsequently came to be widely worshipped as 'Nitta Daimyojin'.
