History
Originally, Iina O-Gongen was enshrined on Mount Yama (now Takashima-dai) and Konpira O-Gongen at the foot of the mountain as separate entities. Following the separation of Shinto and Buddhism during the Meiji period, the Otsuna Shrine was merged with the Konpira Shrine when the latter's buildings were rebuilt in 1911, forming the current Ootsuna Konpira Jinja.
