In 1900 CE (Meiji 33), a small shrine was established within the Otaru Farm. In 1933 CE (Shōwa 8), it was designated as a village shrine, and subsequently, several other shrines were merged into it, establishing it as the chief guardian shrine of the town. In 1999 CE (Heisei 11), the main hall was constructed as part of the centennial commemorative project for its founding.
