History

As the Ujisha of the Kawauchi district, it was formed in 1907 CE (Meiji 40) by merging eight former village shrines under government guidance, adopting its current name. The current main hall (honden) is a relocated structure from the former Hiyoshi Shrine, situated within the grounds of the former Sagoshima Shrine. The shrine's history also includes that of Omiya Shrine, which is said to have been enshrined in 903 CE (Engi 3).
