On February 16, 1434 CE (Eikyo 6), the then Head Priest of the Office of Divinities, Yamana Soun, invited the kami from the Sahimeyama Shrine, a Jinkai-sha (shrine listed in the Engishiki) in Mino Province, to this silver mine at the request of the local lord, Ouchi Tohitaka. Later, the shrine buildings were rebuilt by Mori Motonari.
