Sanzo Shrine
宇都宮市満美穴町32
A shrine located in Utsunomiya City, enshrining the family deity of the Akutsu family.
History
The shrine was established at its current location as the family deity of the Akutsu family from the end of the Genroku era to the beginning of the Hōei era (circa 1702–1705 CE). In 1911 CE (Meiji 44), it was designated as a village shrine and served alongside six other shrines, including Mishima Shrine. It established a religious study group to devote efforts to the moral education and cultivation of its parishioners. In 1975 CE (Shōwa 50), a Shinto spiritual garden was established, and the shrine has since focused on promoting household rituals.
