History
Founded in 807 CE as Fukasuna-gu, it later merged with the deity Fukasuna Ooou and came to be known as Fukasuna Daikongen. In 793 CE (Enryaku 12), Sakanoue no Tamuramaro built a small shrine, and in 807 CE (Daidou 2), the shrine buildings were constructed by imperial decree. Following the separation of Shinto and Buddhism during the Meiji period, it became a Shinto shrine and is currently listed as a Special Table Shrine.
