History
Founded in 1529 CE (Joroku 2) on the site of a branch residence of the Fujiwara clan, the grand priests of Atsuta Jingu, by Zenko Shonin with the support of Oda Nobuhide. It was destroyed by fire in 1600 CE (Keichō 5) but was rebuilt by order of Toyotomi Hideyori and later patronized by the Owari Domain. It was destroyed again by air raids in 1945 CE (Shōwa 20) and rebuilt in the postwar period.
