Founded in 1623 CE (Genna 9) by the monk Myokai. The patron was Koyoshi, the fourth generation head of the Ishikawa Minbu family. The temple's name is derived from the dharma name of Koyoshi's father, 'Seiki.' It was formerly a branch temple of Ninna-ji but became a branch of Chikurin-in in 1910.
