Later, Horiuchi Yamashiro-no-Kami Tadaharu, who succeeded the works of Horio Yoshiharu, relocated the enshrined kami to the Shirakata area in Matsue. Since the Edo period, it has been widely worshipped as a great deity of learning and is currently designated as a Special Shrine by the Shimane Prefectural Shinto Shrine Association.
