Founded in 1617 CE (Genwa 3) by the monk Kyo-yo Rin-kyo. Originally established in Takanawa, Shiba, it was relocated to its current site during the tenure of the second abbot. Although everything was destroyed in the wartime air raids of 1945 CE (Showa 20), the principal Buddha statue was miraculously rescued and remains enshrined there today.
