History
Founded in 1355 CE by Myo-o, wife of Takashi Fuyu, with permission from Ashikaga Takauji to mourn the souls of her extinct clan. It operated as a nunnery from its founding until 1875 CE and received land donations from Tokugawa Ieyasu. In 1927 CE, following disputes over land provision for the relocation of Okazaki Post Office, the temple moved to its current location in Nakacho.
