History

1221年に地頭の江馬輝経が自らの念持仏を本尊として建立したと伝わる。その後、金森可重によって中興され、1649年に現在の地へ寺基を移した。現在の本堂は1929年に焼失した後に高山市の城山にあった保寿寺を移築したものである。
