History
幕末に高野山金剛峯寺上蔵院が焼失した際、院主の原信頂和尚が土佐の仏閣の惨状を見て寺院建立を発願した。明治14年に板垣退助の生家を買い受け、明治16年に建築落成した。昭和20年の空襲で焼失したが、昭和39年に再建された。
