History
According to shrine tradition, the shrine was founded in 710 CE (Wado 3) when a branch spirit was enshrined from Tamayawo Jinja in Suo Province. It is believed to have been established to worship the ancestral deity of the land inhabited by the Tamazukabe people. The current shrine buildings were rebuilt in 1725 CE (Kyoho 10).
