History
As one of the Myoken shrines linked to the Chiba clan, it was enshrined in 1644 CE (Shoho 1) by descendants of the Chiba clan to honor their ancestors. In 1868 CE (Keio 4), it was renamed Todoru Shrine, and the Three Deities of Creation (Sousei Sanshin), who are identified with the Bodhisattva Myoken, were established as the enshrined deities. In 1908 CE (Meiji 41), the Washi Shrine was merged into it, resulting in the current lineup of enshrined deities.
