A small temple featuring a statue of Kannon (the Bodhisattva of Compassion) that is believed to grant recovery from illness when washed.
What visitors say
At the entrance, worship sets including incense and towels are sold. Visitors can perform worship using the permanent incense burner (joko) and participate in the 'Araikanon' ritual, which involves wiping the Kannon statue to purify it. The temple grounds feature chairs and benches for rest, and the surrounding shopping street is lively. Since lines form during peak hours, it is recommended to visit with plenty of time to spare.
