History
Founded in 1348 CE (Shogō 4) by Hayashi No. It is said to have originally been located near a sutra mound where Ariwara no Narihara mourned the victims who drowned in the Sumida River. The temple was damaged in the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake and relocated to its current site in 1929.
