History
永正2年または元亀2年に、超蓮社勝誉上人文益浄阿によって厩橋城下の柳原に創建された。慶長6年に酒井重忠により、利根川の洪水氾濫を避けるため現在の千代田町に移転した。1945年の前橋空襲でほとんどを焼失したが、1976年に再建された。
