Founded in 1907 (Meiji 40) by the Horikoshi family. In 1924 (Taisho 13), a branch spirit from Kyoto's Yasaka Shrine was enshrined here, and the shrine adopted its current name. It relocated to its present site in 1975 (Showa 50). In 2015 (Heisei 27), coinciding with the 90th anniversary of its founding, the shrine buildings and grounds were newly constructed and renovated.
