In 1534, a branch shrine of the Grand Shrine of the Imperial Grand Deity (Tsukuyomi Shrine) was established in the east direction of Kamei Castle. It was rebuilt in 1708 and 1835 with the support of the local lord. In 1918, the nearby Kumano Shrine, Hie Shrine, and Hakusan Shrine were merged into this shrine. In 1974, a new main hall was constructed in the Shinto style with a steel and concrete frame.
