History
It is said that the shrine was originally founded by Kusunoki Shoro as a guardian for Uchigatana-gata Castle, one of the Kusunoki Seven Castles. In 1480 CE (Bunmei 12), Ishikawa Hachirozaemon-jou constructed the shrine buildings, and in 1617 CE (Genna 3), Kai Shozan Masafumi carried out renovations using surplus materials. During the Meiji era, following the separation of Shinto and Buddhism, it became a village shrine, and in 1907 CE (Meiji 40), it absorbed Ko-en Hachiman Shrine.

What visitors say
The shrine grounds are adjacent to Uchigatana Park and feature old, charming shrine buildings. You need to climb a steep staircase to reach the buildings, but a ramp is available on the right side of the torii gate. The parking lot is near the entrance, and depending on the navigation system, a route through a bamboo grove from a side road may also be suggested.
