The founding year is unknown. It was originally situated in the Iyaga Valley of the Nishi-Yasuda district but was relocated to the Nagaiishi Valley in 1340. Following incidents of fire and subsequent reconstruction, the main hall and dance hall were newly rebuilt in the late Edo period. It was designated as a village shrine during the Meiji era and became a religious corporation in 1945 (Shōwa 20).
