History
In 1382 CE (Eitoku 2), Miura Sada-mune, the lord of Takada Castle, enshrined the deity as the guardian of the warrior class. The shrine buildings were washed away in the great flood of 1390 CE (Meitoku 1), but the shrine was rebuilt in 1429 CE (Kyōroku 2) by the Kaneda clan, vassals of the Miura family. It has been revered by feudal lords and villagers in the early modern period and continues to be enshrined today as the guardian deity of the warrior class.
