This shrine was founded by imperial decree of Keiko Tenno, the 12th emperor. It is regarded as the guardian deity of Dogo Onsen, and the Yu Kiyome Sai (Hot Spring Prayer Festival) is held every March.

What visitors say

Located on a small hill near the Dogo Onsen Honkan (Main Building), this shrine features a staircase along the approach path. From the shrine grounds, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Dogo town landscape. There are legends concerning the emergence of hot springs, and today, annual festivals continue these traditional rituals.
