Zentokuji Betsuin (Zentokuji Branch Temple)

During the Edo period, the Makomoto family, who were active as the head of the government courier service in Daidenba-machi, had their grave established in the cemetery grounds. The government courier service (On-denba) was a labor duty requiring the provision of people and horses to relay along the five major roads and the suburban areas of Edo. The Makomoto family managed this operation for generations.
